University of Washington Awarded Life Sciences Discovery Fund (LSDF) Funding to Advance Novel Artemisinin Technologies for Cancer Treatment in Collaboration with Artemisia BioMedical, Inc. The University of Washington is one of six Washington life science organizations to be awarded funding from the state's Life Sciences Discovery Fund (LSDF). In collaboration with Artemisia BioMedical, Inc, a research team under the leadership of Tomikazu Sasaki, PhD, will receive approximately $1.5 million over three years to advance development of novel artemisinin compounds for cancer treatment.

January 31st. Malaria-Infected Mice are Cured by Oral Administration of New Artemisinin Derivatives. Johns Hopkins researchers have cured malaria-infected mice with only three low oral doses of a new series of potent, long lasting synthetic artemisinin dimers.
July 24th. Artemisia BioMedical Awarded Washington Technology Center Research Funding. Artemisia BioMedical, Inc. is one of five companies awarded Washington State funding for innovative commercial technology applications developed in partnership with Washington researchers.
